End Of Masks As CS Mutahi Kagwe Reveals The Following Changes

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has revealed that the government is considering easing health protocols put in place following the outbreak of the global Coronavirus pandemic two years ago.

Kagwe noted that the rate of infection and hospitalization had drastically reduced in recent days which was an encouraging sign in the fight against the pandemic.

According to the CS, citizens could be required to do away with the masking mandate since the country and its citizens could be developing herd immunity and stated that an announcement on revised measures was imminent.

"The first time I noticed that these people are not actually wearing masks these days then you wonder what happens next? Let us watch and see. Maybe we are developing hard immunity slowly and as we develop the immunity, you don't come hard on them. You don't create a police state of beating them up because they are not wearing masks," he stated.

Some of the research being undertaken is to ensure that the positivity rate stays low for some time and that the hospitals are well equipped in case of a resurgent.
