Nairobi Among Top 10 Cities With Highest Number of People Living With HIV/AIDS

It has been discovered that the number of people living with HIV & AIDS in urban areas are so high. Most cities are believed to be home of a very good number of people living with the disease. The risk of HIV infection is high in cities due to their large population. The numbers are so high in cities because they often receive limited attention in HIV programmes. To put an end or reducing the epidemic requires ensuring that resources, support and services for preventing and treating the HIV positive patients to the large populations in towns and also places in need of them.

In order to achieve rapid progress, the government officials should respond quickly to HIV and AIDS. The government should respond quickly to support cities to improve their social equality for people affected by and living with HIV.

Nairobi city is among the top cities with the highest number of people living with HIV/AIDS in the country. In the latest findings released by National Aids Control Council (NACC), Nairobi has a higher number of people living with HIV and AIDS in Kenya. The other top towns that made the top 10 were Kisumu city, Migori town, Busia town, Homabay town, Siaya town, Kisii town, Nyamira town, Murang'a town and Trans Nzoia.

The organisation said that the number of people living with HIV/AIDS in Kenya has reduced. This may be because of creating awareness.People need to be educated more on how to prevent this disease from spreading too quickly, it can be prevented.
