Dr Christopher John Kirubi has been a household name in Kenya not only because of his philanthropic lifestyle but also by the fact that he has been one of the most prominent Kenyans out of his wealth.
As Kenyans continue mourning his death which occured on Monday, many will remember him as having had a very strong battle with cancer.
“My cancer was discovered by mistake." These were the opening words of billionaire businessman Chris Kirubi when he spoke for the first time about his fight against cancer.
According to researchers, this is a type of cancer that begins in the large intestine (colon). The colon is the final part of the digestive tract.
Colon cancer typically affects older adults, though it can happen at any age. It usually begins as small, noncancerous (benign) clumps of cells called polyps that form on the inside of the colon. Over time some of these polyps can become colon cancers.
However, he recovered from it and has continued to live a healthy life until his death which was confirmed by the family after a lot of uncertainty from Kenyans.
