Since its outbreak, the Omicron variant has greatly changed the pandemic in several ways. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 symptoms brought by the Omicron variant can last for about 7 or 14 days. Omicron is different from the other variants and this is seen in the symptoms that come with it. Omicron virus incubates faster than the Delta form and this results in the signs and symptoms lasting for a shorter period. Exceptions are with severe cases where recovery will take six months if the brain, kidneys, heart and lungs.

Other studies have also showed that symptoms of Omicron variant last shorter than other variants that have been witnessed in the past. Omicron variant spreads faster and the symptoms can also go away faster if the patient takes good care of themselves while managing the virus or when they get infected. If the patient is not vaccinated, then the symptoms maybe be more serious.

The Omicron symptoms for vaccinated individuals are mild and disappear faster but if you have not received the vaccine you are likely to have a different experience. Unvaccinated people are said to have Omicron symptoms for more days and they can be severe leading to hospitalizations.
