Anastacia Muthoni believes that her husband infected her with the deadly HIV/AIDS virus. He had had been practicing infidelity with different women for the 7 years they were married. But when she informed her husband of her status he became violent attacked her and even burnt her leg.
She made a decision to return home because the abuse was excessive. Sadly, her family turned against her as well and beat her multiple times. Anastasia’s own biological mother served her food on the cat’s plate and made her sleep in the goats shed.
All her siblings except one stigmatized and mistreated her. At some point, they denied her food and she had to collect food in garbage bins for survival.
Even worse she has been battling cancer of the cervix. The first time she underwent radiotherapy she was on remission but recently relapsed. However, she is undergoing treatment and is hopeful that her health will be restored.
Today she cautions the public against stigmatizing the sick and especially the HIV/AIDS victims. Comment, Share, Like and Follow for more stories.
