COVID-19 Infections in Kenya Records Positivity Rate of 20 Percent

Today on Wednesday, April 7th the Ministry of Health confirms 1,523 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 7,423 tested in the last 24 hours. According to the ministry's data, this is almost 5 times yesterday's confirmed cases. The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 141,365. Ironically, the positivity rate has jumped from 13.5 % to 20.5%.

At the same time, the total fatalities have risen to 2,276 after 18 more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. On a positive note, 616 more patients have recovered and discharged bringing the total recoveries to 97,194 ever since the first case was registered last year. Today's COVID-19 figures have left Kenyans worried about whether the strict containment measures will be Lifted Soon or not.

Meanwhile, everyone is urged to stay safe and always observe the safety protocols put in place by the government to help contain the spread of the disease which has continued to Wreak havoc in the country.
