Whiskey has high levels of polyphenols, plant-based antioxidants linked with lowering your risk of heart disease. The polyphenols in whiskey have been shown to decrease “ bad ” cholest erol (LDL) and increase “good ” cholesterol (HDL) levels, and reduce triglycerides, or fat in your blood.
A recently conducted study at the Centre for Research and Advanced Studies in Mexico concluded that drinking tequila is good for the bones. A substance in the tequila plant, agave tequilana, improves the absorption of calcium and magnesium, minerals which boost bone health.
Research suggests that drinking an occasional glass of red wine is good for you. It provides antioxidants, may promote longevity, and can help protect against heart disease and harmful inflammation, among other benefits.
In fact, it's just as good for your heart as red wine. Another University of Reading study concluded that "two glasses of champagne a day may be good for your heart and circulation and could reduce the risks of suffering from cardiovascular disease and stroke."
