Things Are Getting Tough for Polygamous Men during Pandemic

Turkana County Commissioner Boniface Muthama has asked polygamous men to choose one wife to stay with during covid-19 pandemic.

While talking to a group of men in Turkana county the administrator urged the polygamous men to stop their normal rotational visit to their other wives in different towns.

He said that the measure is to help the government limit the spread of community-based covid-19 infections in the country.

"If you have a wife in Kitale, another in Lokichar and another one in Lowdwar you choose one that you will stay with until the pandemic is over" - Muthama Wambua

Although Turkana county is yet to report any positive case of covid-19, the county has set isolation units and holding areas at all entry points and the county referral hospital with a total of 57 isolation beds in the 12 facilities found in the county.

The government has so far banned movement into and out of five counties that have reported high cases of coronavirus infections to flatten the country's virus curve.

The counties are Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale and Mandera.
