"We Must Regulate Medical Fees" Osotsi Says After Body of a Man Is Held at Aga Khan Over 2.3M Bill

Vihiga senator Hon Godfrey Osotsi has this evening attended a funds drive for Mr. Dan Osotsi in Emabungo ward, Luanda Sub-county in Vihiga.

Me Dan a renowned entrepreneur passed on while undergoing treatments at the Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu. His remains have since been held by the hospital management pending clearance of bills amounting to 2.3 million shillings.

Previous fund drives have raised 1.2 million but the family has not been able to lay their loved one to rest as they still owe the hospital over 1 million shillings.

Speaking during the event today, the Vihiga senator said that going into the future, he will lobby other legislators to look into ways they can regulate medical bills. Osotsi said that it is inhuman for a family to be asked to pay such monies when they have lost their loved one.

"We must relook into the way hospitals deal with medical bills. I will team up with Dick Maungu and other MPs to ensure that we come up with legislation that will guide situations like this." Affirmed the Vihjga senator
