Covid-19 disease started from China in Wuhan City in 2019. The disease spread to many countries within a short period of time. According to today's update by Johns Hopkins University 155,934,998 people have been confirmed infected. Out of this cases 3,258,393 have died due to the virus.
India is currently going through tough times with cases and deaths from covid-19 rising rapidly. More than 20 million Indians have contracted the disease with around 218,000 fatalities.
Today, India has recorded another high infections. In the last 24 hours 412,262 have tested positive for covid-19 with 3,980 additional deaths.
Yesterday, health experts with a model from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in the University of Washington predicted that about 1,018,879 deaths by the end of July this year if cases will continue rising.
Already, India is in a serious health crisis. Hospitals, morgues and crematoriums are overwhelmed with scarcity of medical supplies.
