The Teachers Service Commission Sends a Message To Teachers

The Teachers Service Commission is legally mandated to register, employ and manage the affairs of teachers in the country. The Commission has been making major steps in enhancing Service delivery to employees. For a long time, the TSC took time to sort out teachers issues causing a lot of inconvenience in terms of time and cost of travel to and from the headquarters. It decentralised operations to the subcounty level for easy access of service thereby easing the burden on teachers. The Commission recently migrated from the manual system to an online platform where teachers can apply for any service without physically visiting TSC offices. This is a welcome move for employees particularly during this Covid-19 pandemic period.

The teachers employer has been concerned about the safety of the tutors especially after reports that over forty teachers have succumbed to Covid-19. They now have asked teachers to apply for tranfers online as a safety precaution against contracting the Corona virus. It has been giving regular updates to teachers to keep safefrom the disease that has ravaged many families across the world. Teachers are among the frontline workers that the government gave priority to vaccination against the Corona virus. TSC tweeted today advising teachers to go for the vaccine at any health facilities approved by the Ministry of Health. There were mixed reactions from teachers with some saying they won't go for the jab. See their replies,
