Jackline Njoki aged 36 years told her story on tuko news in an interview with Lynn Ngugi. She talked about how she started doing prostitution at a young age and got infected by a one night stand. Her story was one emotional and you can't even begin to judge her as the circumstances forced her to.
Her mother travelled to abroad and left her with her siblings and aunt to fed for themselves with no support. One of her sisters had a child but they could not provide for her too. Jackline Njoki started doing prostitution so that she could provide for the family despite her mother working abroad. She later stopped going to school so that she could work. At the age of 18, she went for a HIV test and it came out positive.
As she was the breadwinner, she didn't stop and continued doing this but she never told her clients that she was infected. In the interview, she told Lynn that she does this because the man who infected her didn't tell her he was infected and every person should take care of himself.
