It's now some weeks ago since the Nurses and the health workers downed their tools in demand of the increment of their salaries and risk allowances. The health workers expressed a lot of frustrations and dangers that are facing right now during the Corona pandemic times. They claimed to have cried upon the government to look into their issues but to no avail.
But today morning through Radio Citizen news, hon Mutahi Kagwe Threatened the health workers to return immediately to work or face dismissal letters since their strike is unlawful. He said the healthy workers should be much considerate and return to attend the suffering Kenyans at the moment. He cited that if the strike persist, then he will instruct the counties to recruit the new nurses.
Mr Panyako who is the leader of the health workers has vowed not to return to the public hospitals until their rights are met. He cited about the PPEs and unfriendly environment for the healthy workers. Perhaps, he criticises the government for putting a lot of concentration on the BBI document instead of the health of the Kenyans. He wondered where the government is getting 14 billions of the BBI referendum yet it's cannot get the money for the nurses.
It's remembered that, the doctors also are expected to commence their strike tommorow. Though they had given an official notice earlier, it's seems the government has not yet attended their demands.
