Former KEMSA Board Chair Denies Role In COVID-19 Supplies Scam

Former Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) Board Chairman Kembi Gitura poked holes in the National Assembly’s Public Investment Committee report on the COVID-19 billionaires scandal.

The former chair, who is accused of influencing tenders at the supplies agency, claimed the committee convicted him without looking at his evidence.

Gitura similarly blamed the report that calls for additional examinations all at once examinations concerning the embarrassment had been shut. 

Gitura, who passed on the board to seat the Communications Authority board, rubbished the report as negligible as well as a misuse of citizens cash for the various gatherings they sat examining the trick. 

"I figure what they don't appear to appreciate is that EACC finished considerably its examinations some time last year and they made their own suggestions to the workplace of the DPP on who to charge and who not to charge. As such, that question of examinations is finished," he said. 

In its suggestions, the PIC report requested that EACC research Gitura close by Joel Gesuka Onsare, who sat in the KEMSA board, on the honor of responsibility letters to Wallabis Ventures Limited, Villa Surgical Supplies and Equipment Limited.
