The world is still battling with covid-19 pandemic. The disease have claimed lives of millions of people around the world. Governments and scientists have advised people on how they should prevent themselves from getting the virus. The discovery of the brought hope to the world. However, the serious challenge is acquiring the vaccines. The demand is high compared to the supply.
Kenya has received numerous covid 19 vaccines from foreign countries. Moderna, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca vaccines currently available although not adequate. The adminstration of Pfizer vaccines is giving the government of Kenya another headache. According to the Ministry of Health they are unable to administer the jab due to lack of special syringes. The government is now depending on the American government fo low dead space syringes to be to adminster the jab.
“We were expecting the US to send us the syringes that are supposed to be used to administer the doses we received, but they did not, and now we are waiting... ” a high ranking official at the Health ministry said.
