Kenya is currently experiencing the third wave of Covid-19 infections as the Ministry of Health have been announcing major rise of infection cases.
This has become a major concern for everyone as community transmission is very common in areas outside Nairobi city where it was thought it's the hub of Covid-19.
According to the Star News reports, the United Nations have predicted that Kenya will experience the worst Covid-19 third wave because of two major factors.
The first factor is due to the meteorological weather changes. The country are about to enter the rainy season which is a season of flu and cold.
Due to this season, the transmission of Covid-19 is expected to be high, which is a worrying issue to Kenyans and the Kenyan government.
One of their statement read as follows: "Laboratory studies of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, have yielded some evidence that the virus survives longer under cold, dry, and low ultraviolet radiation conditions."
The second factor is because of the major pollution that is being experienced in the country. It has not yet been confirmed that Covid-19 spread is high in polluted areas, but it is believed that this factor will worsen the situation.
However, it is very easy to cool down this tension if Kenyans adhere to the guidelines and protocols put in place, and together we will win the fight against Covid-19.
