Tension is high in our neighbor country after today's discovery by the ministry of health in Uganda.
The ministry has announced the discovery of the first case of the omicron corona virus variant that was recently discovered in south Africa on the 24th of November 2021.
Uganda has reported nine cases of the virus which is believed to be one of the most deadly and with an ability to spread faster than the usual corona virus.
The virus is said to be more severe and likely to spread from one person to another faster and is likely to cause death more rapidly compared to the other variant viruses.
According to the world health organization, the available vaccines is believed to work well and will reduce chances hospitalization and death that may result from the omicron virus.
However, scientists are working to learn more about this virus but have insisted on the importance of the booster vaccines.
Kenyans should remain vigilant and observe all the protocols set by the ministry of health to minimize the spread of this virus.
