Kenya has seen a 44% increase in Covid-19 infections, the highest in Africa even as the continent as a whole reported a five percent drop in the number of new cases. As the country struggles to contain this third wave, the number of deaths reported in the country over the last one month have increased by 35%, the second highest on the continent.
This is according to the latest data from the Africa Center for Disease and Control. The Ministry of Health says that this one is quite peculiar. Kenyans have now been urged to take much more caution and fight the virus by all means.
This new wave of the virus has come with a different set of symptoms leaving many confused. They include conjunctivitis, a rash on the skin, discoloration of fingers and toes, diarrhea and general fatigue.
The Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said Kenyans have been pushed sometimes to the limit by this virus, but citizens must stand strong in the fight against the pandemic.
