Ugandan authorities say more than 800 people and an unknown number of customers from several companies in the Kampala City area received fake Covid-19 jabs.
The report followed the release of diagnostic results for samples taken from the vaccine group.
Dr Warren Naamara, director of the White House Health Monitoring Unit, told the Daily Monitor that the suspects in the case, as well as the fleeing doctor, had deceived several people and the company.
He said they were injected with fake vaccines between May 15 and June 17.

Testing in India
Dr Naamara said on Monday that a number of suspects in counterfeit Covid-19 vaccines and real ones had been referred to the Directorate of Government Analysis Laboratory at Wandegeya and the National Medicines Authority (NDA) for investigation.
The NDA sent the samples to the Serum Institute of India, the developers of Covid-19 vaccines & immuno-biologicals, in comparison with the actual vaccine.

The Serum Institute of India confirmed that the group in question had never been released in Uganda and that the product label description was false.
The State Analysis Laboratory also confirmed that the vaccines seized did not match the actual bowl.
"Artificial vaccines were more watery than anything else, from the contents of the analyzed chemicals," Dr Naamara said.
There is no danger.
He noted, however, that the number of people who received artificial jabs was not toxic or at risk.
"All individuals and co-operatives who have been vaccinated for a fee, especially within the workplace and the suspect still in general, are advised to get a free jab of Covid-19 at immunization centers approved by the Ministry of Health," he said.
