The announcement from the Ministry of health has given hope to residents of Western region.
This is after a decline of positivity rate, especially in the 13 counties which were identified as Covid-19 hotspot zones.
The ministry of health has reported a positivity rate of 8.2 percent, after 283 tested positive from a sample of 3,452 tested in the last 24 hours.
Kisii is one of the counties in the western region that has been identified as Covid-19 hotspot zone.Kisumu is another county which is also identified as a hotspot zone for Covid-19 virus.
However, from today's report, the number of covid-19 cases has decline rapidly in Kisumu county, recording 24 positive cases only.
Other counties include ;Bungoma with 2, Siaya 15, Busia 10, Homa Bay 10, Kericho 1, Bomet 1, Nyamira 1,Vihiga 1 and Kakamega 6.
Therefore, from the above analysis, we can conclude that, the positivity rate in these 13 counties has decline rapidly.
This being good news to residents of Western region, they should not relax.
They are encouraged to obey the curfew hours rules and other regulations put forward by the ministry of health.
