There are so many diets out there and it is confusing. You don't know what to follow and you get conflicting advice. Now am hoing to share 10 tips for a lasting weight loss.
The tips am going to share are evidenced -based and might not work for everyone because we're all a little bit different. Therefore, you have to experiment and see what works for you and since its a short journey you will actually lose weight in phases.
1. Cut back on added sugars
Here we are discussing about added sugar such as white sugar , honey , fruit juice and not natural sugar found in whole fruits and vegetables.
Its highly adviced not to have added sugars on a regular basis and it if not so, it should be in less amounts. According to a scientific study ,it's said that people who consume a lot of added sugars are at a higher risk of obesity , heart disease and diabetes.
2. Cut down on refined carbohydrates and finely milled carbohydrates.
It's adviced to have the right carbs and in right amounts and in a balanced way.
Refined Carbohydrates are carbs that are not whole foods and they are processed and don't have much fiber and they are extremely processed. These carbs can raise blood sugar very quickly.
Examples of refined carbohydrates include; cakes , cookies , breakfast cereal , fruit juice.
Instead consume whole food carbohydrates such as whole fruit vegetables, legumes.
3.eat enough fiber,fruits and vegetables.
According to the study , people who have more solube fiber tend to weigh less.
I would suggest you increase your fruit and vegetable intake, more especially the vegetables.
Here is an example of the list of foods that are high in soluble fiber.
4. Exercise activities and making more movements.
As you all know, when it comes to weight loss , diet and exercise go hand in hand. Exercise is a very crucial step and it can be done in different ways such as walking , jogging , weight training , cycling.
Also you can do non-exercise activities so as to burn all the calories while not exercising such as walking the shop or bus station , standing , taking the stairs , waking home with groceries.
Remember Normal weight is not always a healthy weight.
