Journalist Denied Access to Uasin Gishu County Hospital

Uasin County Gishu County hospital is a no go zone for journalists.

According to security officers manning the district hospital gate no journalist is allowed to enter the hospital. 

"We have been directed by our seniors thta no journalism whatseover is allowed to take clips in the hospital unless he or she gets permission from the Uasin Gishu CEC incharge of health Evelyn Rotich," said one of the security officers manning the gate while speaking to the press. 

This comes after a section of Uasin Gishu journalist who were on a fact finding mission on the ongoing strike were send away by the security officers. 

They were forced to conduct their interviews outside the Uasin County Gishu County.

"It is sad that journalist are being send away yet they are in their line of duty. How do they expect us to get permission from the Uasin Gishu CEC Health in which in the first case he is not reachable. This is denying us information which is contrary to our profession," said one of the angry journalist who wanted his name not to be revealed.  

"We are calling on our able governor who is always a friend to allow us to do our work without being interfered by anyone since our aim is to get information for the sake of poor Kenyans," he added.  

Uasin County Gishu County workers have been on the goslow following the ongoin strike.

A section of patients who had gone there to get health services they were referred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital and othet private hospitals.
