The Reason Why Your Biometrics Need To Be Captured By NHIF

The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), could be defined as a state parastatal that was founded in 1966 by the government of Kenya with the main aim of providing affordable, accessible and sustainable medical cover to all the citizens who register for it. This means that whoever registers with the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) will be able to have his or her hospital bills covered provided he or she is an active member. To be an active member, a registered member must contribute to his or her account on a monthly basis.

All registered members must always provide their NHIF cards when seeking medical cover so as to be able to be assisted. However, right now, its not a must for anyone to provide his or her NHIF card to be able to receive his or her medical cover. This is because you can seek NHIF services card less provided that you have registered for biometrics. All you need is to visit an NHIF service point for your biometrics to be captured.
