Effects of coranavirus on body organs.

Lungs. The lungs are the most affected body organs by coronavirus. When COVID-19 pneumonia progresses, more of the air sacs become filled with fluid leaking from the tiny blood vessels in the lungs. Eventually, shortness of breath sets in, and it can lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome, a former of lung failure.

Heart. COVID-19 can affect the heart by invading the heart muscle itself, causing inflammation within it. Also, if the lungs become inflamed, the right ventricle has to work harder to deliver blood to the lungs. This strain can impair the right ventricle, causing right-sided heart failure with fluid backing up into the liver and kidneys.

Blood vessels. COVID-19 causes inflammation in the lining of the blood vessels that transport blood and nutrients throughout the body. This can lead to increased blood clot formation and greater likelihood for this clots to stick to the walls of the blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack.
