She goes by the name Dr. Neema Mbaruka. She is currently the director and orthopaedic surgeon consultant at Rehema Holistic centre. As a single mother of one child, she is a passionate orthopaedic surgion in private practice dealing with orthopaedic trauma. She was the first female doctor in Kenya to register in orthopaedic surgery. Her passion for this medical role was realised and jump started when she fell in love with orthopaedics after her first rotation in medical school.
Dr. Neema holds a bachelor of Medicine and bachelor of surgery (MBChB) from the University of Nairobi. She advanced her studies at Moi University with a focus in orthopaedics which resulted to a masters in medice orthopaedic surgery. So far she has worked as a surgery resident at Moi University, orthopaedic surgeon at Opti-One Resources and Solutions Limited and as an orthopaedic surgeon at Royal Medical Specialists in Kisumu. She plans to specialize also in spine surgery. Felicitations to her.
