Four Things To Avoid Immediately After Taking Meals

Certain things we do immediately after meals can end up affecting the digestive system in our body. And therefore its important to avoid these things for the benefit of our health.

1.Avoid Taking Bath Immediately After Meals.



Taking a shower or a bath after eating can interfere with the process of digestion. Digestion requires a lot of energy and a good amount of blood flow toward the stomach. Therefore is advisable to wait at least 30 to 45 minutes after any meal before bathing.

2. Avoid Sleeping After Meals.



Your body gains weight when you take in more calories than you are burning off. This is the case no matter when you eat. Going to sleep directly after you eat means your body doesn't get a chance to burn off those calories. So, eating a big meal and then hitting the couch can be just as harmful.

3. Don't Smoke After Meals.

The digestive system works o.n the whole body and since after a meal it is very active, the nicotine from the cigarette binds with the oxygen in the blood. The intestines and other internal organs are most likely to get affected due to the outburst of free radical released due to smoking after the meal.

4. Don't Take Tea After Meal.

Tea leaves are acidic and will affect the digestion process. If you consume protein in the meal, the acid from the tea will harden the protein content, making it difficult to digest. Drinking tea immediately after a meal will also interfere with iron absorption by the body. Avoid tea one hour before and after meals.
