I do not have any disease in my body – Homabay coffin driver who allegedly tested positive for COVID

Homabay driver who is said to have tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, April 20, spoke for the first time about his ordeals with health officials on arrival.

The driver, identified as Kelvin stated that he does not have any symptoms of any disease and feels like he is being illegally held in a quarantine facility.

In a video, Kelvin said that he was only informed of his positive condition by the health workers who did not tell him much more.

However, according to the Ministry of Health Director general, Dr Patrick Amoth, Kelvin's samples were tested at the Kenya Medical Research institute in kisumu where the results tested positive.

“He was tested in KEMRI kisumu and he tested positive for COVID-19, he is one of those who are asymptomatic” stated Dr Amoth.

He added that the reason Kelvin did not show any symptoms was because he was asymptomatic.

“He does not require any kind of medication If he is asymptomatic, he will have to stay in quarantine for fourteen days in order to be tested again” added the Director General.
