Global Funds To Issue Kenya With Medical Supplies Upon Revoking Their Funding

The Global Fund will no longer give Kenya money because of fears of corruption. The organization has lost it's trust in Kenya.

The Fund which bolsters HIV/Aids, tuberculosis and malaria programs, said it would rather purchase the clinical supplies required by the nation.

This choice is intended to reduce corruption in the obtainment chain and bear the cost of more recipients drugs and different supplies.

The declaration came after a review of the Kemsa case of misusing COVID-19 Funds.

A report by the Country indicated that cartels at Kemsa and the service have taken billions of shillings, along these lines exposing a large number of Kenyans to disease and death.

The office currently says it is penniless and needs a Sh5 billion bailout from the legislature even as it developed that it can't represent Sh17 billion given to it in the last money related year.

In relation to Global Fund, Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache Friday said she is confident the financing won't stop.

“We will still be getting help but in a different form. We are doing all we can to reclaim our lost glory,” she said.
