Home Remedies For Stomach Ulcers

 Ulcers are sores on the lining of your stomach or small intestine. Sores also could be on your esophagus (throat). Most ulcers are located in the small intestine. These ulcers are called duodenal ulcers. Stomach ulcers are called gastric ulcers. Ulcers in the throat are called esophageal ulcers.

Most ulcers are cause by Heliocobacter pylori (H. pylori). This is a bacterial infection. Acids from the foods we eat can make the pain and discomfort worse. Long-term use of aspirin or anti-inflammatory medicines (ibuprofen) are also a common cause of ulcers. Stress and spicy foods can make an ulcer worse .Though Stress does not cause stomach ulcers but they worsens the situation by causing increased acid production.

Here are five natural remedies for stomach ulcers.

1. Honey

Honey has antimicrobial properties that act against the bacteria H pylori that cause ulcers.

2. Garlic

Garlic is known to have antimicrobial and antibacterial properties that aid in preventing bacteria growth and speed healing of the ulcers.

3.Spinach

This vegetable is so paramount to the general health of human. Spinach helps in digestion hence making the digestive system in order.

4.Apples

Apples contain flavonoids which are important in inhibiting the ulcers. Consume many apples as you can to get rid of them.

5.Carrots

Carrots contain beta-carotene which helps in making the stomach lining stronger. You can decide to eat the carrot raw or better still blend the carrot to obtain juice and drink.  

6.Broccoli

Broccoli contains sulforaphane which is responsible for destroying the bacteria that form stomach ulcers. Remember to include broccoli in your diet to do away with ulcers. 

7. Cabbage juice

Cabbage juice is rich in vitamin C which prevents the development of the H pylori bacteria. The use of cabbage juice to treat stomach and digestive ulcers is said to be more effective compared to using drugs. 

8. Onions

This prevents the growth of the ulcer-causing bacteria that causes stomach inflammation. To make it easy to consume the onions, add sliced pieces to your salad. Do not fry the onions, eat them while raw.
