MOH Delivers A Message To Kenyans After It Runs Out Of Covid-19 Jabs

Few days after infections increased, the Ministry of Health is experiencing some challenges in administering covid-19 jab. It's now suggesting to slow down the administration of these vaccines, for the fact that importing the second type of vaccine is now a big challenge. Kenya did not expect a big number of people to show their interest in this medicine, but long quests are being witnessed daily in health centers. Ministry of Health told citizen television that with an acceleration of 30,000 to 40,000 jabs a day, this vaccine will only last for some days.

In a statement, Dr. Tedros said that there will be a vaccine inequity if many countries demand it, which indicates that India should increase their daily production to overcome this. Kenya will be one of the most affected counties where cases are increasing daily as well as death rates.

“The problem is not getting vaccines out of COVAX, the problem is getting them in. we understand that some countries and companies plan to do their bilateral vaccine donations, bypassing COVAX for their own political or commercial reasons. These bilateral arrangements run the risk of fanning the flames of vaccine inequity. This is a time for partnership, not patronage. scarcity of supply is driving vaccine nationalism and vaccine diplomacy.” Dr. Tedros said.

Many countries are not in a position to provide medical covers during this covid-19, which is risky as this third wave is unbearable. What measures do you think Kenya should undertake to ensure that citizens are safe? Leave your comments as you help mend people that covid-19 is real.
