Total Lockdown Announced For 10 Days From 17 July As Third Wave Of Coronavirus Ravages Rwanda.

The scores of coronavirus pandemic continue to scatter African countries and crumble economies as the search for vaccines continue. Vaccine shortage has been reported in most countries accross Africa with the World Health Organization pleading for help from wealthy nations.

Among the countries which employed the toughest measures to combat the crisis in Africa is Rwanda. The government of Paul Kagame announced a list of radical measures including the use of drones and total lockdown that archived a lot. In the most recent announcement,the capital Kigali has been put under total lockdown for 10 days effective July 17 in a bid to fight the third wave of the virus.

The Nation Media has reported that Paul Kagame's administration has given the stay at home order for all city occupants since the number of infections have increased steadily in the metropolitan.

African governments have however been encouraged to invest more in vaccine procurement as it has been confirmed that the only way to beat the virus is through vaccination.

"We will beat the virus if we increase our vaccination rate" WHO secretary general said earlier.
