People may define fortunate in various ways. However, the best way you can ever be fortunate is through having a very compatible blood type. Through this, you are also very important to our society.
There are three proteins whose presence or absence in the plasma membrane of erythrocytes or red blood cells determine a person's blood type.
These proteins are Antigens A,B and the rhesus factor or Antigen type D. If a person has Antigen A and has the rhesus factor the blood group is A+ and A- in the absence of rhesus factor. We therefore get 8 blood groups as follows A+, A-, B+, B-, AB+, AB-, O+ and O-.
The O type are those who have neither antigen A or B. The most fortunate blood type and very important to the society is O. The fact that this blood type can give blood to any other blood type makes it important to the society.
This blood serves an important role in blood transfusion for the other people in the society who have health vulnerabilities. HHowever, people with this blood type can only receive blood from O type only.
