The total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Our Country has risen to following the recent reporting of 904 new infections in the last 24 hours. With the new infections the country's positivity rate now stands at 15.9 Per cent the Ministry of Health confirmed on Thursday 22nd April.
In a statement, Health Cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the newly confirmed cases were from a sample size of 5,673 tested in the last 24 hours bringing cumulative tests conducted so far to 1,624,663. Of the new infections, 885 are kenyans while 19 are foreigners 519 are males patients while 385 are females. To some good news 88 patients recovered from the disease bringing total number of recoveries to 105,367.
Sadly the Country lost 20 patients to the disease in the last 24 hours bringing Country's total fatalities to 2560, On distribution per County, Nairobi is still leading with 288 casese followed by Mombasa County with 88 new infections.
Members of the public are still urged to be vigilant and adhere to covid-19 protocols in the country.
