Health CS Susan Speaks About Free Condoms Distribution To Curb HIV Infection

Many people have been infected with HIV and other sexual transmitted infection (STDs) just because they engaged in unprotected sex. In most cases, the government runs short of the condom products and this becomes a challenge especially to the 'night nurses' and naive teenagers. Due to this reason, the government has looked for a way of sorting the matter since we do not want to increase the number of people who are under ARVs. The government received a total of 38 million condoms that are supposed to serve Kenyans. As reported by health cabinet secretary Susan, she claimed that they have released 265 boxes as first batch of the condoms and they'll be taken to 50 facilities in different counties. The counties are Lamu, Mombasa, Kisii, Nyamira, Siaya, Nairobi, Kisumu, Transzoia, Baringo, Kilifi, Kiambu, Turkana and Samburu. These condoms are actually free of charge and KEMSA will organize another disbursement that will cover the rest of the counties. The aim is to ensure people are having protected sex and we don't want to report more infection this year. Source, Star.
