The Nairobi West fraternity was very proud of their latest medical achievement. They are the first Kenyan hospital to conduct a successful bone marrow transplant.
Lang'ata Member of parliament Jalang'o attended a party to celebrate the achievement. Several doctors and professors were in attendance to mark the great success.
The University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, Professor Kiama attended the event. Most of the doctors who conducted the delicate procedure are former students of the prestigious institution.
Jalang'o congratulated the hospital management for a job well done. He said that the success would improve treatment in the country.
For many years,cancer patients have had to travel abroad for treatment. The cost of treatment has been expensive and many families have been unable to meet it.
Medical doctors were very excited with the achievement. They believe that this would improve the lives of cancer patients in the country. Leukemia patients will have better chances of survival.
