MoH Kenya Reports 264 Corona Patients Are in ICU as Call For More Hospital Beds Escalates

Ministry of health Kenya has Announced that there are a total of 264 patients in intensive care unit when more beds are needed in hospitals to accommodate the increasing numbers of covid-19 patients.

Health cabinet secretary Announced this today during the release of Corona virus numbers in the last 24 hrs.

Over the last 24 hrs, Kenya reported 1,027 cases out of a sample size of 7,184. The total number of positive cases so far is 151,287. The positivity rate stands at 14.3%.

Also, over the last 24 hrs, 382 patients recovered bringing the total number of recoveries to 101,362. 20 more fatalities were reported and the total fatalities stands at 2,463.

Out of the 264 patients in ICU, 55 are in ventilatory support with 239 under support of oxygen. County hospitals are urged to increase their hospital capacity to reduce overcrowding in town centres.

The positivity rate is still high and the president is not likely to open the economy if the numbers do not go down.
