Ministry of Health led by CS Hon Mutahi Kagwe has today announced that 57 people tested positive to COVID-19 in the last twenty four hours.
This comes from a sample of 2,954 people who were tested in the last twenty four hours in various parts of the country. This is a positivity rate of 1.9%.
45 of those who tested positive to this deadly virus are Kenyans and the remaining 12 are foreigners, 35 males and 22 females.
The youngest is 5-years old while the eldest is eighty years old. Up to now, 324,406 people have tested positive to this virus from a cumulative sample of 3,655,967 people who have been tested since the first day corona virus disease was reported in the country.
In terms of distribution per counties, Nairobi leads with 37 cases followed by Siaya county with 6 cases. Kilifi comes third with five cases, Kiambu 2, Muranga 2, kisumu, Kwale, Turkana, Mombasa and Bomet have each reported 1 case.
Kenyans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 regulations and protocols in this campaigns season so as to curb the spread of this disease in the country.
