A cactus is a xerophytic plant that is succulent in nature with some needle like leaves that naturally grows in arid and semi arid areas.
Although it is considered as have less economic value to human beings and animals, a woman,32, identified as Mary Wangui from Nyakinyua, Solai centre, Rongai constituency, Nakuru county in the former Rift Valley province have turned it to a source of income.
Speaking to a local media station, the outspoken Wangui disclosed that she crush the plant in to pieces, squeeze out the liquid and make wine. "You only need to add a little amount of honey and sugar so that it can ferment." She stated.
Conferming the good news the area chief disclosed she has recluited other women in to the business and are now earning a good income.
