Githeri is a favorite food for many people. It is served anytime breakfast with tea, lunch and even supper. Githeri can be cooked with other foods such as waru, minji and even pumpkin. Today let's learn how to prepare githeri mixed with pumpkin.
- 1 whole pumpkin
- 2 medium sized tomato 🍅
- Salt to taste
- 1 medium sized onion
- 1 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Cooked Githeri
The procedure to follow ;
- Prepare the pumpkin and cut into pieces and wash them
- Prepare the onions and tomatoes and cut into small pieces
- Put a saucepan over medium heat and add the onion and oil cook till they turn brown then add tomatoes
- Then add the pumpkin and cover with a lid until they are half way cooked then add githeri and water and cover till they are cooked
- When ready enjoy your food
