The foodstuffs he donated includes maize flour, rice and pasta. He said that he decided to donate food to them because he understands how the footballers struggle to afford a meal and that most of them are his friends.

"Most of these people are my friends and were my teammates back then and I therefore understand what they are going through right now," Said Kibwage to the Nation sport.

He added that apart from playing football, those footballers do mental jobs which is a source of daily bread for them and they cannot do those jobs at the moment.

" A part from playing football, they do mental jobs to get their daily bread and that is impossible at the moment. I might not have much it is obvious am now a better position and I had to do something no matter how small ," he added.

Kibwage also said that he might not have much to offer and that he is in a better position so he had to help his friends who really need the help.

His donation has benefited up to 50 footballers. He therefore called on fellow his fellow football stars to remember the less privileged who include grassroot footballers.
