In the country, there are millions of Kenyans who are struggling with high cost of living. This has been caused by the currently situation in Ukraine. Raw materials including wheat and maize are mainly imported from Russia or Ukraine.
According to the source, new details have just emerged about the prices of cooking oil. As per the latest report share by Tuko News, it has been finally revealed that Kenyans are buying one litre of cooking oil at Ksh 460, Soko maize flour at Ksh 210, bar soap at Ksh 200 and tissue paper at Ksh 50 per piece. It has also been revealed that the high cost of living have increased by 50 percent since January this year. These are bad news to all Kenyans because most of youths are jobless.
Recently, manufacturers were unable to import palm oil due to lack of dollars and this has forced thousands of Kenyans to pay more for one litre of cooking oil.
This just come in after the government also revealed that the prices of maize flour will start reducing from this month.
