How to cook a Kenyan style Chicken Curry

INGREDIENTS

3 tbsp oil

1 large onion, chopped

1 tbsp ginger, chopped

1 tbsp garlic, chopped

1 tbsp green chillies, chopped

2 tbsp coriander-cumin powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp chili powder

2 cups tomatoes, pureed

Salt to taste

1 tbsp tomato paste

1 chicken, pieces

1/2 glass yoghurt (plain)

Coriander leaves, chopped

Procedure

Heat oil in a pan/sufuria then add onions and stir for 1 minute until translucent.

Add ginger, garlic and green chillies and cook for another 45 seconds.

Add the coriander-cumin powder, turmeric powder and chili powder and stir.

Pour chopped tomato and some salt according to your taste and cook for 15 minutes until oil starts to ooze out of the tomatoes.

Add the chicken and cook for 20-25 minutes. Stir in the yoghurt and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Pour some coriander leaves and serve with steamed Daawat Aromatic rice.
