How to make a Yummy Githeri with Avocado

Githeri is a delicacy in Kenya's Kamba and Kikuyu communities. It's basically a boiling blend of maize/corn and beans, then fried with vegetables. It is delicious, tests amazing, and is super simple to make.


Get pre-boiled githeri ( mixture of maize and beans)

1 bunch Green onions,

2 Tomatoes

1 green pepper

1 bunch Dhania.

black pepper and salt to taste

minced Garlic

hunger paste

cooking oil

1 ripe avocado


1, Get all of your ingredients together.

2, Set your frying pan to medium heat and warm the oil, then add the onions and cook until they begin to brown.

3, Add the tomatoes, all of your spices, and salt to taste. Finally, add the githeri and mix everything well.

4, Add some water and bring to a boil for 5 minutes. Add your green pepper and dhania at this stage and cover for a few minutes.

Serve with a slice of avocado.
