Kenyans have been hit hard by the sudden rise in prices of staple foods, including sugar, cooking oil and bread and clothes. According to a moday publication in the Daily Nation, Kenyans will now have to go deeper into their wallets in the solemn task of placing 1 liter of cooking oil, 400g of bread and 1kg of sugar on the table which is not normal at usual.
The current market prices of these three staples are as follows: 1 liter of cooking oil sells for Ksh 336, 1 kg of real sugar costs Ksh 138 while 400 grams of bread currently costs Ksh 60 making Kenyans to suffer cost of living.
Russia's ongoing war against the sovereign nation of Ukraine is seen as the cause of the spike in food prices in the country according to the government as the prices expected to increase further more in next few weeks.
