1.) Coffin bay king oysters. Grown exclusively at a farm located in a sheltered peninsula of the Australian west coast. They are grown for six years rather than the usual 18 months and can weigh up to 1 kg each.They cost 75 dollars each.
2.) Almas caviar. It costs 25 thousand dollars per kg . The tan has also been made with metal plaited with 24 karat gold. Caviar is usually extracted from different species of sturgeon fish, but this Almas caviar is exclusively from the albino beluga sturgeon species which lives in the Caspian sea. This albino beluga are rare and eggs are extracted only in species over 100 years old.
3.) Bird nest soup. This is a major delicacy in China, costing between 2,500 to 10,000 dollars per kilogram. These are obtained only from nests of swallow and swivlet birds which are made of 100% bird's saliva. These birds make their nest out of their solidified spit. When boiled in water the nest turns into soup.
4.)Ayam Cemani chicken . Found in Indonesia, these hens have black meat and charcoal colored blood which is believed to bring power and wealth to those who consume it in some cultures. This birds are hard to come by in the U.S and costs up to 2,000 dollars for a grown bird and 200 dollars for a chicken.
5.) White truffles. These truffles costs 4,400 dollars per kg.This fragrant fungi are one of the worlds rarest delicacy. They are white and can only be harvested between October to December each year found only in the forest of Piedmont in northern Italy. They grow inches below the earth together with roots of hardwood, making them hard to find. Special trained dogs must scuffle the floor in search of these truffles.
6.) Densuke black watermelon. This unique watermelon are grown in the northern island of Hokkaido in Japan. They have crisper flesh, more juice and enhanced sweetness compared to their regular counterparts. Depending on the size, they sell at upwards of 250 dollars.
7.) Donkey cheese. Also known as Pule, it is produced in a rural farm in Serbia from donkey milk. It is has esteemed health benefits with claims of it being rich in proteins, calcium and omega 3 fatty acids. Each kilogram of these cheese sells for 1,100 dollars.
8.) Blonde d'Aquitaine steak. This rare beef is considered the most expensive stake in the world and costs 3,200 dollars per kg. The meat is from a Blonde d'Aquitaine cattle produced in north eastern France. The cow is slaughtered humanely to make the process stress free and to keep acidity levels of the meat at a minimum. The meat is then stored in a room and pumped with constant stream of air with speeds of up to 75 miles per hour and temperatures of -45°F ,where it remains in this state of forced hibernation for 15 years.
