Even though we mostly make steamed rice at home, it gets boring to eat the same thing over and over.
If this sounds like you, we have some easy and healthy tips for making rice that will make it healthier and taste better.
Are you all set? Read on to find out.
1. Vegetable Stock.
Stop throwing away the peels of vegetables and use them to make a healthy stock. You can cook rice in this stock, and you can also use it to make curry dishes smoother. By adding vegetable stock to rice and other dishes, you can make them healthier. Try it!
2. Masala with Curry Leaves.
Dry curry leaves, toor dal, black pepper, salt, dried red chili, coriander seeds, dry mango powder, and cumin seeds are used to make a spice powder. Mix this spice powder with ghee and then use it to cook rice. The aromatic rice dish is good for you and tastes good, too.
3. Lemon Juice.
Add some lemon juice to your rice while it's cooking if you think it's too bland. This will give the dish a hint of sourness, make the rice look beautiful, and keep the grains from sticking together.
4. Garam Masala
Just heat some garam masala in oil or ghee, add salt, and then use the mixture to cook rice.
5. Corn and green peas
During this time of year, you can always add green peas and corn kernels to rice to make it more colorful and healthy, whether you're cooking it from scratch or reusing it. Not only do they make the dish healthier, but they also make the rice look more appealing.
6. Sugar and Seasoning.
If you don't have brown rice but still want to make your rice look fancier and taste better, add some oil or ghee to the cooking pan, then add some sugar crystals and spices like star anise, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon sticks. Let the sugar melt, and when you can smell the spices, add the rice that has been washed and soaked. When you cook it all together, the final dish will have a brown color.
7. Garlic and onion
If you're tired of eating plain steamed rice, add some burnt or caramelized onion and garlic to it. This will make the rice taste better right away. You can add salt and pepper to make the taste more interesting. You can serve this rice dish with any curry.
