How To Prepare Sweet Mandazi Mixed With Lemon and Ginger

Mandazi is one of the wheat foods we love to prepare at home. Mandazi is sweet at any given time. If you want your Mandazi to last long, mix them lemon and ginger. Today we learn how to prepare them.


  1. EXE mandazi flour (already has baking powder)
  2. to taste Sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon salt
  4. Grated fresh ginger
  5. Grated lemon zest
  6. 1 scoop margarine
  7. Oil for frying

The procedure to follow;

  1. Into a bowl, pour and stir flour to aerate. Add sugar, salt, ginger and lemon zest. Stir to mix.
  2. Add warm water/milk and knead till dough forms. Cover and leave to rest for about 30 minutes.
  3. Roll into balls, and flatten it and cut into desired shapes. Leave to rest once more. Fry in moderately hot oil.
  4. Flip until golden brown. Serve warm. Bon appetit!
