They say if you want to make a real friend go to someone's house and eat with him, the people who give you their food give you their heart. Kenya has a rich culinary culture from its diverse ethnic communities. That does not mean our traditional food is the only thing that Kenyans eat. We have borrowed other foreign cultures when it comes to food.
Noodles are a good example of a none- native type of food. Those who have gone through campus life can appreciate this food because it's cheap and instant. It is made from unleavened dough which is rolled flat and cut, stretched or extruded, into long strips or strings. Noodles are usually cooked in boiling water, sometimes with cooking oil or salt added.
Mainstream media have been running creative adverts of noodles in different flavours using celebrities to even push up sales. Today a notable social media influence has posted about a flavour of noodles that has left netizens in excitement. Damaris Muga is a popular social media user and former fashion model based in Kisumu. The lady hilariously made some remarks on her post about the new flavour of noodles in Kenya. Here is the post.
As expected, the reactions from Kenyans were hilarious. The question remains, what inspired such a flavour? Is this another marketing gimmick to sell noodles? Only time will tell.
