Remember Mama Stella? This Is The Condition She Is Struggling With

Clara Wamaitha Ng'ethe who was popularly known as Mama Stella of Machachari opened up on her depression journey afted she started noticing a change in her skin.

The condition is called Vitiligo. It is characterized by pale white patches which appear on the skin. This us due to the lack of melanin.

Clara narrated on how she used to cover the patches with make-up when they first started appearing. What used to disturb her was the thought of being rejected as an actor because of her skin condition.

She says she started being an alcoholic because of her situation. Thanks to her husband and son who helped her accept her condition.

A doctor once asked for sh 200,000 in order to permanently treat her condition. However, it did not work.

Cindy has now accepted her new skin colour and embraced her condition. In fact, she has joined many others with the same condition and is spreading awareness aboug the disease.

She says it requires a lot of courage to live with her condition.

"When walking, you meet people who often ask whether you were burnt," says Cindy.
