Dreadlocks or Locks are considered a unique way of hair maintenance. It is a process where one decides not to shave their hair and give room for growth of the hair.
A person who maintains dreadlocks is known as a Locktician, most people tend to use other names as the term is not common to most people.
There are various methods of maintaining Dreadlocks, and it depends on what the client opts to go for as a way of maintaining.
The first method is a normal RETWIST, it Involves the use of hands as the piece of dreadlock is retwisted either in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction as a way of maintaining the hair growth and it is a commonly used method and the cost ranges between 500 to 1000 Kes.
The second used method is CROCHETING, this method comes in a variety of sizes i.e 0.6 mm, 0.7 mm to 1 mm in size, it is a process that only a Locktician can perform as a special technique is used. This method can be done on natural hair without the use of Wax.
The crocheting method is a bit expensive than the normal retwist, but all methods are good for maintaining and keeping Dreadlocks in form. The price of Crocheting can range between 2500 to 5000 Kes.
If you are planning on having dreadlocks, opt to consider either of the two methods, but I highly recommend crocheting.
